Masahiko Nakase

Institute of Science Tokyo, Japan

I specialize in nuclear chemical engineering at the Institute of Innovative Research, Institute of Science Tokyo (Science Tokyo). My work encompasses the nuclear fuel cycle, especially separation, waste fabrication and disposal studies. My contributions during my career include contactor work, synthesis, and characterization of extractants for many separation cases, such as trivalent Actinide/Lanthanide separation, PGM, and Actinide chemistry. Recently, I developed a digital scheme to accelerate the Actinide separation work. Not only the back-end study of nuclear fuel cycle, but I also work on innovative nuclear reactor design, nuclear fuel cycle simulation, and Fukushima decontamination studies.
